A traffic crash near McKenzie Friday has claimed the life of one man and left another injured. 

Brian Paul Walton, 60, was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 31 roughly five miles north of McKenzie City Limits, in Butler County approximately 10:01 a.m. Sept. 29. Wilson, of Memphis, Tennessee, sustained fatal injuries when the parked 2021 Lexus NX3 he was in was stuck by the Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Tre’Lyn Tysean Kent, 22, of McKenzie. 

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) responded to the scene where Walton was pronounced deceased. 

“Kent was transported to Andalusia Health for medical treatment,” said ALEA Senior Trooper Kendra McKinney. 

Nothing further is available as Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
