Individuals looking to get in shape as one of their New Year’s resolutions may do so by enrolling at 24-Hour Fitness in Greenville.

Craig Waller, 24-Hour Fitness owner, offers a special deal for those wanting to improve their quality of life one rep at a time.

“We’re cutting half off the enrollment fee,” Waller said. “We want people to come in and see what they’re getting for their membership.”

He added membership has its advantages.

“They can come in, and we’ll go over the different packages we have,” Waller said. “They can get a feel for the vibe here while they’re here.”

Ariana Martinez, a dedicated employee, will even demonstrate how to use the equipment.

“We have Zumba and dance classes,” Martinez said.

The charge for the classes is included in the membership price.

“We definitely have new faces in here,” Martinez said.

While Waller believes all the fitness centers here in Greenville offer a different vibe, he wants people to choose what suits them.

He wants them to be comfortable wherever they decide to go.

“At the end of the day, we want people to be healthy in Greenville, because when they’re healthy, they’re more positive, and therefore, we’ll have a more positive environment and community,” Waller said.

Since school was closed due to inclement weather, Fort Dale Academy Headmaster David Sikes took advantage of his ‘free day’ and hit the gym.

He even demonstrated his ability on a piece of exercise equipment.

As Waller stood back and looked out over his busy gym, he stressed the importance of fitness.

“I just want people to be healthy and health-conscious,” he said. “I believe they’re realizing that now.”

Waller pointed out the health advantages of quitting smoking, drinking, and overeating, and added people can change those future outcomes by slowly changing the choices they make today.

“Fitness can get your mind on yourself and for positive things,” he said.

Waller said fitness can help with addictions, no matter how severe or how much of a grip they have on a person.

“Fitness, to me, helps people on all different levels,” he said. “For the New Year, we’re pushing for people to just step out of the box, take that first step to get healthy.”

He wants people to just get out of their comfort zones, and out of their own way.

Instead of trying to lose 50 pounds, Waller says to start with a goal of just 10 pounds.

“Set a small goal, hit it, then set another small goal,” Waller advises.

The fitness center features a variety of amenities and offerings, including elliptical steppers, treadmills, showers, full tanning rooms, and different classes as well as a kids room with cameras, so people can keep an eye on the little ones while they keep an eye on their health.

All of these perks come with membership.
