Greenville City Council held two public hearings for economic development and tax incentives

The Greenville City Council held two public hearing for requests for economic development and tax incentives before the city council meeting Monday.

The requests, which came from Greenville Cash and Carry and Greenville Tire Company, were approved during the regular city council meeting. The approval of the request will allow Greenville Cash and Carry to remodel their store, as well aid the Greenville Tire Company as they move to a new location and add a Car Quest Auto Parts to their business.

Regarding the rest of the meeting, the city council

  • Approved a resolution to authorize the renewal premium payment to AMIC for municipal insurance coverage for the city of Greenville from April 20, 2021 to April 19, 2022
  • Authorized the declaration of certain personal property owned by the city as surplus, as well as the disposal or sale of some of that property
  • Approved expenditures for communication equipment for the Greenville Fire Department
  • Approved expenditures for a new engine for a Greenville Police Department vehicle
