R. Wayne Boswell has announced as an Independent Candidate for Butler County Board of Education District 4. Voting precincts are Dunbar Community Center, Central Volunteer Fire Department, Damascus Volunteer Fire Department, and Midway. Boswell is a Greenville native and attended W. O. Parmer Elementary School, Greenville Junior High School and is a 1967 graduate of Greenville High School. He has an A.A. degree from Patrick Henry State Junior College, as well as a B.S. in Education, M.S. in Education, M.S. in Special Education, and Ed.S. degrees from Troy State University. Boswell worked for the Butler County School System for over 38 years as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal and over 31 years as a Central Office administrator. In 2005 he served as Interim Superintendent of Education. He retired from the school system in 2009 and remains an active supporter of public education.
Boswell states that “he has the time to commit to serve on the Board of Education, where decisions will be made based on what is best for students.” His emphasis will be on students, instruction, extra-curricular activities, and finance. In the General Election on November 3, a voter may cast a straight party vote, split the vote between parties, vote for an Independent or write in a name. By filling in the bubble next to the preferred candidate’s name, the candidate(s) will receive the vote for that particular race.
Boswell humbly asks for your vote as the Independent candidate for Butler County Board of Education District 4. “Vote first for Wayne Boswell by filling in the bubble next to his name, and vote the rest as you will.”
