World’s largest peanut boil under way

Crenshaw County Alacazar Shrine Club’s hosts the Worlds Largest Peanut Boil again this year on Sept. 2-7, 2020 (or until they sell out) in Luverne, Alabama.

When Labor Day week starts, it is time for the annual peanut boil. The Facebook page now at 3.4 likes, shows how important this event is to Luverne.

This event turned tradition has been around for 49 years and counting. The crowd keeps getting larger, due to the pandemic; this year may be a bit different.

Not only are the crowds getting larger but also the tons of peanuts.

Even though this may seem like a tradition to others, this is history and a lifestyle for the people of Luverne.
