Margaret Ann Ryals
Mrs. Margaret Ann Ryals, 83, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd, in Panola Cemetery with Rev. Parker Bowen officiating and Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mrs. Ryals was a beloved member of her community due, in large part, to her many years of service as a teacher’s aide at Highland Home Elementary School. She loved every single one of her students, and they loved her back just as much. She was very much a family-oriented type of person, who relished her role as a caregiver to so many. She also loved cooking for anyone who visited her home. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose example will live on in all those she leaves behind.
Mrs. Ryals was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Quinton Ryals; son-in-law, Hal Owens; parents, Ernest & Lenora Lopez Brantley; and two siblings, Ernest Brantley and Kathleen Keeffe. She is survived by her three children, Curtis (Colette) Ryals, Marianne Owens, and Kathleen (Sonny) Mokler; nine grandchildren, Curt (Courtney) Ryals, Leigh Ann (Dennis) Brown, Leslie (Tory) Jordan, Carol (Wes) Nelson, Patricia (Tony) Maddox, Thomas (Leah) Christopher, Jake Vinson, Ryleigh Vinson, Analise Mokler; nine great-grandchildren; two siblings, Joe Brantley and Beverly Andrews; and many nieces & nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Wes Nelson, John Andrews, Dennis Brown, Thomas Christopher, Tony Maddox and Harrison Maddox. Chase Brown will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
