Coronavirus forces banking changes, ATM use encouraged

Financial institutions are also altering their business operations as social distancing and limited contact are encouraged as the coronavirus continues to spread throughout the state and nation.

When possible, financial institutes are encouraging ATM use for obtaining cash or depositing funds.

Effective Friday, March 20, all First Citizen Bank locations in Butler and Crenshaw counties closed their lobbies and limit teller transactions to drive-up windows. Employees will be available by appointment only for loans and large financial transactions. Use of ATMs and 24/7 online banking is encouraged.

Below are other financial institute changes:

  • Effective March 20, Guardian Credit Union, 717 Willow Ln. – Drive-thru banking only. Call (334) 244-9999
  • Effective March 23, BB&T Bank, 120 Greenville Bypass – Drive-thru banking only. Call (334) 382-6523.
  • Effective March, Trustmark Bank’s Greenville Bypass location will start providing drive-thru service only. The lobby will remain open at the Commerce Street location.
