Mr. Paul Jeffrey Wright, 63, a resident of Highland Home, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Funeral services for Mr. Wright were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 3, in Salem Church of Christ with Brother Charles Sipper officiating.

Interment followed in Salem Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Wright attended Delta State University on a baseball scholarship, and was an avid fan of many different sports.

In fact, he passed away peacefully while watching the women’s softball championship, which is exactly how he would have wanted to leave this world. Mr. Wright was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and grandfather.

His love for his family exceeded all else.

His loving presence will be deeply missed by all those he leaves behind.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Betty Jean Grimes Wright. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Wright; five children, Jamie Wright, Shannon (Jesse) Tah, Grant (Christa) Hughes, Steven (Arisa) Hughes, and Bryan Hughes; six grandchildren, Lawson Tah, Maddox Tah, Sara Grace Hughes, Christopher Hughes, Bentley Hughes, Carly Hughes, Aiden Hughes, and Arya Hughes; and his brother, James Stephen (Jane Ann) Wright.

Active pallbearers were Patrick Nichols, Gary Davis, Parish Hartman, Chris Edwards, Hunter Lawson, and Christopher Branch.
