Butler County could see another round of severe weather Thursday afternoon and into the evening hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Mobile, a storm system is on track to bring widespread showers and thunderstorms to the area this afternoon through late tonight.
Greenville and Butler County are listed in an area that includes a marginal risk of severe storms. The possibility of damaging winds and a tornado are included in the risk, but the primary concern with this system is heavy rain.
The NWS expects locally heavy rainfall to be spread across the region. Much of the region may receive between two and three inches of rain, but some areas may see localized amounts as much as four inches. Minor flooding will be possible in a few places.
