Two accidents days apart have killed two people on Interstate 65 in Butler County this week.

According to Alabama State Troopers, a two-vehicle crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. Thursday near the 113 mile marker south of Georgiana. Isaiah Wilson, 75, of Elgin, S.C., was critically injured when his 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by James Bourgeois, 48, of River Ridge, La.
On Tuesday, a single-vehicle crash near the 119 mile marker resulted in the death of Cameron Michael Carlson, 62, of Baldwin County.
Information from the Troy Post of the Alabama Highway Patrol, Troop B said Carlson’s 2016 Nissan Altima left the roadway and struck a tree around 7:50 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
