The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office has released details surrounding the arrest of a Highland Home School teacher.
Hannah Noelle Davis, 24, was arrested last Thursday and charged with one count of sexual contact by a school employee with a student under 19 – a felony charge – and was booked into the Crenshaw County Jail.
Crenshaw County Sheriff Mickey Powell said the school’s resource officer informed investigators, which looked into the matter and, with cooperation from school officials, charged and arrested Davis.
Powell said the investigation is still ongoing and at this time investigators believe only one student was involved. He also reported that Davis’ employment with the Crenshaw County School system has been terminated.
“I’d like to thank the principal and superintendent for working with us on this,” Powell said. “We want to keep the students safe.”
Further information on this story will be available in Thursday’s edition of The Luverne Journal.
