A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Freewill Baptist Church in Luverne for Ms. Audrey Lou Rhodes, 58, of Luverne, who ended her journey on this earth on Monday, Sept. 3, surrounded by her children. The Rev. Johnny Jones will officiate. Family and friends will meet at the church at the service time on Saturday, Sept. 15.
Audrey was born on Nov. 21, 1959, in Clermont, Fla., to Joe and Nina Rhodes. She was a free spirit who loved to make those around her laugh. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother as well as being a creative soul who loved to sew and cook.
Later in life, Audrey spent much of her time searching for her next adventure. She will be remembered as a loving sister, mother and grandmother with a beautiful, joyous smile.
Her parents, Joe and Nina Volner Rhodes; sister, Betty J. Wells; two sisters-in-law, Hope Rhodes and Rhonda Summerlin; two brothers-in-law, Tim Tomlin and Charlie Ray Bell, and her niece, Mary Ann Rhodes, preceded Audrey in death.
Survivors include her four loving children, Nickie (Shelton) Morrell, Nina (John) Eiland, Nicole (Anthony) Goodwin and Donald “Scooter” (Megan) Bell; 13 grandchildren, Torrie (Chad) Free, Savannah Mitchell, Shelly Mitchell, Auburn Morrell, Brandyn Taylor, Ceila Eiland, Charolette Eiland, Taylor Goodwin, Brian Goodwin, Cody Goodwin, Grayson Goodwin, Madilyn Thornton and Lorelei Bell; great grandson, Brady Estes; stepfather, Theo Talley; two sisters, Janice (Ben) Stewart and Rebecca Rhodes Tomlin; four brothers, Joseph Rhodes, Ricky (Debra) Rhodes, Mark Rhodes and Jamie Rhodes, and numerous nieces and nephews.
