The Edge 8 Theatre in Greenville will officially reopen on Friday, Oct. 5, after being shuttered for nearly two months. The Edge 8 manager Michael Nimmer announced the reopening this morning.

“I’m very excited that we were able to get the theatre open again,” Nimmer said. “It’s an extremely nice place to go watch a movie with the family. A good bit of work has been done the past few months to make sure it reopens. The mayor and the city have been very helpful in the process. We’re looking forward to Oct. 5.”

The theatre closed on Aug. 13, but Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon was confident it would reopen.

“This theatre is important to the community of Greenville and we’re going to work to see it open back up,” McLendon said after the theatre closed.

Nimmer added that prices on movie tickets and concessions will change when the theatre reopens.
