Butler County Circuit Judge Terri Lovell handed down two life sentences on two separate cases earlier this month.

Lovell sentenced Allen Schofield, 62, of Georgiana to multiple life sentences on July 5, after he was found guilty of first-degree sodomy among other sexual crimes on June 14, following a trial at the Butler County Courthouse. He was dealt four life sentences, four 30-year sentences and one 20-year sentence for the crimes.

Schofield was arrested in September 2015, after information surfaced about sexual abuse he had committed between January 1979 and February 1983, of multiple children under the age of 12 years old.

According to an article in the September 16, 2015, edition of The Greenville Advocate, one of Schofield’s victims came forward in March 2015. It also stated that Butler County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer said Schofield faced life in prison due to the age of one of the victims. One of Schofield’s stepchildren was 6 years old or younger when the abuse occurred. Tesmer added that the children abused ranged from ages three to 11.

Lovell also sentenced Jimmy Earl Little to life in prison on July 5. A Butler County jury convicted the 31-year-old Georgiana resident of murder on June 14, for the shooting death of Martin Fitzgerald Wilson, which occurred in August 2015.

According to an article in the Aug. 29, 2015, edition of The Greenville Advocate, Little was arrested for attempted murder on Wednesday, Aug. 26. The victim, Wilson, was listed in serious condition at the time, but he later died from injuries suffered in the shooting. The article stated that the shooting occurred on South Street in Greenville.
