A Celebration of Life Service was held 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from Johnson Funeral Chapel for Roger Dale Miniard, 69, of Georgiana, who passed away on Monday, June 11. The Rev. Larry Gaston will officiate. A Gathering of Family and Friends was held from 1 p.m. until service time.

His parents, Clevie and Bonnie Miniard, and sister, Barbara Newton, preceded Roger in death.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Miniard of Georgiana; daughters, Rebecca (Daryl) Stinson and Melissa Spurlock, both of Greenville and Ashley Miniard and Anna Miniard, both of Georgiana; son, Jonathan (Kristen) Miniard of Greenville; brother, Russell (Sherry) Miniard of Georgiana; sisters, Shirley (Clyde) Messer of Gainesville, Ga. and Linda (Michael) Powell of Georgiana; grandchildren, Caitlin Barr, Sandra Sprulock, Christopher Miniard, Jaime Miniard, Makinzey Sprulock, and Amaya Miniard and great grandchild, Brooklyn Alise Lee.
