In October 2017, two men were found slain sitting in a vehicle on Airport Road, near Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

Javon Banks, 22, of Greenville and Darious Lymon, 22, of Forest Home, were the victims in a homicide that has remained unsolved.

“Since the time of their death, law enforcement officials have followed up on several leads, but have been unable to arrest any perpetrators at this time,” said Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden.

On Monday, law enforcement officials gathered with family members of Banks and Lymon to announce an update regarding the investigation.

Through efforts by Harden and district attorney Charlotte Tesmer, Governor Kay Ivey has issued a proclamation, offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a suspect or suspects.

“There has to be somebody out there that knows something,” Harden said, “We want closure in this case. Anyone with any information can call the Butler County Sheriff’s office at 334-382-6521, or 334-525-0361.”

“We need peace. We want anyone to come forward that has any information,” said Kalendria Warren, cousin of one of the victims.
