Funeral services for Mr. Robert James Ray will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. from Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Foster will serve as officiating minister. Burial will follow in Bedgood cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Ala., will be directing.

Mr. Robert James Ray was born on Feb. 27, 1964 in Butler County to the late Mr. Willie J. and Lucille Ray.

Robert resided in Belleville, Illinois for 20 years until his health failed and he moved back home.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories four children, Eric Thompson, Troy, Ala., and Quintin Thompson, DeMario Thompson, and Sharonda Thompson, all of Luverne, Ala.; 13 sisters and brothers, Willie May Ray, Greenville, Ala., Tommie L. Ray, Massillon, Ohio, Minnie Cherry, Loganville, Ga., Bonnie Sue Baugh, Greenville, Ala., Johnnie Lee (Connie) Ray, Massillon, Ohio, Elaine Knowles, Montgomery, Ala., Mary Daniels, Las Vegas, Nev., Rosie Loveless, Greenville, Ala., Bobby Charles (Cynthia) Marsh, Columbia, S.C., Bobby Lee (Ginger) Ray, Greenville, Ala., Cynthia (Nathan) Wallace, Arlington, Texas, and Felicia Ray, Troy, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Judy Missey; nurses, Trista Locklear, Erica McDonald, and his wonderful caretaker Niessa McGhee and Jessie Johnson.
