The Greenville National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will hold a banquet and raffle on March 16, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Butler County Fairgrounds.
The banquet has ticket prices ranging from $55 single tickets to $500-2,500 sponsored tables.
Alabama’s NWTF is involved in conservation, education, and youth outreach causes.
As of 2017, the state organization claims over 63,000 acres of land conserved and over 60,000 more opened to hunters, along with $29,362 given for scholarships and education.
The Greenville chapter offers 2 local $500 scholarships for eligible students.
The state organization is also involved in events such as youth hunts, and works with organizations such as the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries. Another effort, called the Conservation Seed Program, distributes seed to chapters that can be used to feed and maintain local wildfire.
Greenville’s NWTF banquet goes to benefit the overall efforts of the national NWTF.
Member and organizer Ronnie Graddy said “the banquets usually draw a large crowd- around 250-300 people.”
Base-level ticket holders gain attendance to the banquet, including the dinner and auction.
Tables include sponsored membership, a number of tickets to the banquet, and even a hunting rifle for higher level sponsorship.
