Three talented Alabama girls who describe themselves as “sisters at heart” will be bringing their toothsome, tight harmonies to the Camellia City on Thursday, November 9 at the Ritz Theater.
The Sweet Tea Trio–Victoria Camp, Savannah Coker and Kate Falcon— Alabama’s Country Female Artists of the Year in 2016, are the second of four musical acts taking the Ritz stage as part of the 2017-2018 Greenville Area Arts Council performance season.
“We kicked off the season with a great concert by Butler County’s own Ric McNaughton and are continuing the trend with more Alabama-grown musical talents courtesy of the Sweet Tea Trio,” says Nancy Idland of the GAAC.
Now based in Nashville, the trio first met in Birmingham in 2014 through an artist development program called Nashville Bound. Initially performing individually as part of the program, Camp, Coker and Falcon discovered an instant and strong vocal connection the first time they sang together. The three young women have been performing together ever since.
Sweet Tea Trio were invited to perform six shows during Kid Rock’s “Chillin’ the Most” Cruise 2017 and also opened for Bon Jovi’s Birmingham show this year.
After seeing them perform at the CMA Fest, Kid Rock said Sweet Tea Trio “tore the place down.”
“They are not only uber talented, but they are wonderful spirited young ladies with big Alabama smiles! I predict now, these girls are headed for the big time!,” the performer said.
Sweet Tea Trio recorded a well-received self-titled EP featuring six songs, including two original songs and four others written by top Nashville songwriters. The EP debuted at number 11 on the iTunes country chart.
“We are really proud of this EP, as we focused on creating something special that captured who we are as group,” Falcon said. “I am excited that fans can now listen to our words and harmonies that make us sisters at heart, whenever they want to,” Coker said.
Sweet Tea Trio is currently performing at venues across the country, and will kick off their show at 7 p.m. Thursday night, November 9 on the fabled Ritz stage.
“We can’t wait for those lovely and talented performers to bring their sweet harmonies to our town, so save the date and come join us,” said Idland.
“And Ritz patrons can come downtown before the show to enjoy delicious refreshments and libations at our wonderful pre-performance party set for 6 p.m. just right across the street inside the First Realty offices.”
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students, and are available at The Pineapple and McFerrin’s Jewelry as well as the box office the night of the performance.
