The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce cordially invites the community to enjoy “Rhythm and Rib-Eyes” during its annual fall supper kicking off at 6 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Sherling Lake Lodge, located at 4397 Braggs Road.

It’s a new venue for the annual event that Wasden believes attendees will truly enjoy as a change of pace.

“So many people are curious about the lodge and want to see it, so this is a chance for us to showcase this beautiful facility and what it offers to the community. Dexter (McLendon) actually suggested we might consider using it this year for our chamber supper, and I thought it was a wonderful idea,” said GACOC director Francine Wasden.

“You have the great views out there in such a wonderful natural setting.”

The King’s Table will be catering the supper, with a renowned steak chef on hand to prepare the rib-eyes for the guests. Potato casserole, salad and a hot apple pie served a la mode will round out the meal.

“We are hoping for some nice, more seasonable fall weather, of course. Our fall suppers are a wonderful time to do some networking—we have lots of new businesses in this area—and it’s really a chance to reconnect with folks and to socialize and fellowship together,” said Wasden.

The GACOC director said a new addition to the event will be a cornhole toss competition with “lots of fun prizes” for participants. Popular local musician Caleb Luckie will provide the “Rhythm” part of the evening, singing and performing on his acoustic guitar.

Attendance is limited to those 21 and over; tickets are $30 and are available from the chamber office at the Depot, or from any chamber board member, Wasden said.

“We will even deliver tickets to your business or office, but we do need to have all tickets purchased by 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23 so we can give our caterers a firm head count,” she explained.

And Wasden stresses that the event is open to anyone in the community regardless of whether or not they are chamber members.

“It’s a chamber event, but it’s not just for members. We want everyone to feel welcome to join us in this beautiful setting at the lake.”
