Mr. Laurence D. Mitchell, also known as Andre,  age 44, a resident of Greenville, Ala., died on Aug. 16, 2017 at Baptist South Hospital, Montgomery, AL.

Visitation for Mr. Mitchell were held on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Chapel of Carter Rice & West Funeral Home, 10 Chalet Drive, Greenville, Ala. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 starting at 1 p.m. at Lomax Hannon College, 366 S. Conecuh St., Greenville, AL, with Rev. Willie Rudolph officiating and Carter Rice & West Funeral Home of Greenville directing. Interment will follow at Second Mount Zion Cemetery, Mixonville, AL. Repast will be held at Beeland Park Multi-complex Center, Greenville, AL.

Andre married Regina Thomas in 1997 and leaves behind three children: William Thomas (Killeen, TX), De’Arius Mitchell (Greenville, AL), De’Asia Mitchell (Montgomery, AL), nephew: Jamontay Pilson (Georgia); stepfather: Robert Donaldson (Greenville, AL); two brothers: Lawrence ‘Renzzo’ Kent and Lionel Kent; two sisters: Ayvette Collins and Savannah Kent (all from Detroit, MI).
