OBITUARY: Elizabeth Campbell

Elizabeth “Liz” Campbell, 60, a resident of Luverne, Alabama and formerly of Panama City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, surrounded by her family after a tough battle with cancer.  Funeral services for Campbell were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Dunford Cole and Minister Danny Rolling officiating. Interment followed in Darien Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Campbell was the sixth daughter born to Rheo and Madeline Campbell. She was a 1975 graduate of Luverne High School and a 1978 graduate of Troy State University. Liz was a resident of Panama City for 37 years, and she was the president of Clemons & Campbell, Inc. until 2015.  She was preceded in death by her father, Rheo Campbell, and grandparents, Henry Bolden Campbell, Elizabeth Campbell Edwards, and Felix Ervin and Lola Hogan Walker.  Campbell is survived by her two children, Chad Campbell McElreath and Cari Elizabeth McElreath; her mother, Madeline Walker Campbell; five sisters, Penny (Max) Tate, Prissy (Joe) Johnson, Kathryn (Lomax) Tomlin, Melissa (Dan) Curtis, and Rhea Jo (Ted) Bullock; brother, Jimbo Campbell; uncle, Ben (Doris) Edwards, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Active pallbearers were Kyle Wagner, Joey Johnson, Jonathan Perdue, Mark Perdue, Chase Bullock and Michael Curtis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36117.
