Deborah McCarter Daurelio

Deborah McCarter Daurelio passed away on June 28, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Deborah was born in Montgomery, Ala., on Oct. 11, 1962. She worked for many years as a teacher at the Butler Activity and Training Center. The funeral service will be Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Reverend Andy McKeown officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Ebenezer East Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
Ms. Daurelio is preceded in death by her husband, James David Phelps Sr.; and parents, George and Florice McCarter. She is survived by her children, James David Phelps Jr. (Bethany) and Samantha Smith (Wes); brothers, Kenneth McCarter and Charles McCarter (Donna); nieces and nephew, Carmen McCarter (Larry, Jace), Maxwell McCarter (Megan), Christy Turner (MacKenzie) and Justine Blackmon (Hayden); grandsons, Nathan Smith and Will Phelps; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family wants to give a special thank-you to Dr. Nimmagadda, Nichole Cobb, and Brandy Barnes at the Montgomery Cancer Center for their love and support over the past three years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations can be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
