Kathy was born on Feb. 18, 1935, in Luverne, Ala. She was “Grandmamma” to two, and “Kakie” to three, and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed growing flowers, especially roses, collecting frog and angel figurines, baking and spending time outside enjoying the quiet country life. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Kathy spent many years managing the Goodwill Store and teaching the 2 and 3-year-old Sunday school class at Southside Baptist Church. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her Christian life was a beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew her.
There was a visitation on Saturday morning, May 27, 2017, from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Dunklin & Daniels funeral home. Burial followed at Sunrise Memorial Park.
Kathy always lived by the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” In lieu of flowers or memorial donations her family requests that you do a loving act of kindness, make someone laugh, send a card, give a hug, or say, “I love you” in her memory.
