A single-vehicle crash today, April 23, has claimed the life of a Greenville man.  Christopher O’Neil Smith, 26, was killed when the 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving left the roadway and overturned.  Smith, who was not using a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at 12:45 a.m. on Airport Road three miles north of Greenville. Although the circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, preliminary investigation indicates alcohol was a factor in the crash. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
