Doris Elizabeth Till

Doris Elizabeth Till, 92, of Montgomery, Ala., passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017. She was a graduate of Hayneville High School, and she was a member of Farmersville Methodist Church for 80 years. Ms. Till served as an officer for the African Violet Society and of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). She was preceded in death by her father, O.W. Till Sr.; mother, Maude W. Till; three brothers, James Ira Till, George Marvin Till and O.W. Till Jr.; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth J. Till, Jerolene T. Sirmon and Miriam S. Till; and a brother-in-law, Charles T. Madaris Jr.

Survivors include her sister, Nell T. Madaris; brother, Jerry U. Till; 13 nieces and nephews; 24 great nieces and nephews; 20 great great nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017 at New Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, Ala., with Dr. Dan Nixon officiating. Pallbearers were John “Johnny” O. Till, Charles “Chuck” T. Madaris III, Jack T. Madaris, Bruce M. Till, O.W. “Woody” Till III and George A. Till. Leak Memory Chapel directed. The family would like to give special thanks Ms. Till’s caregivers, Carolyn Stanford, Michelle Smith, and Rita Johnson.
