Mazelle Dickey Brook
Mazelle Dickey Brook, 85, a resident of Luverne, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28 in a Dothan hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Brook were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, from the Chapel of Turners Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Tate officiating. Interment followed in the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turners Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Brook was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Ira “J.I.” Brook, and two brothers, Earl Edward Dickey and Rexton Alto Dickey. She is survived by two sons, James Austin (Leah) Brook, Sr. and Charles Anthony Brook; two grandsons, James Austin (Alex) Brook, Jr. and Chancellor Anthony Brook; sister, Katrine (Don) Scroggins; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Mount Dickey and Martha McDougald Dickey. Active pallbearers were Chris Scroggins, Lex Scroggins, Timothy Dickey, Joey Dickey, Tim Hale and Wyndol Smith. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Brook’s two caregivers, Whykeia “Tina” Lowery and Mable Levens and to Dr. Pat and Sandy Walker, Nancy Williams and the staff of Lake Haven Assisted Living. They request that any memorial donations be made to her church, South Luverne Baptist.
Sandra H. Lamberth
Sandra H. Lamberth, 59, a resident of Millbrook, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Harris, and mother, Shirley Ann McGough. Ms. Lamberth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Keith and Tabitha Lamberth; two grandchildren, Tatumn Lamberth and Hagan Lamberth; sister, Tammy Barganier; niece, Brittany Faulk; and great-nephew, Brody Faulk. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
