SPECIAL TO THE JOURNAL:

Crenshaw County 4-H students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th have worked hard throughout the month of January collecting items to make care packages for local soldiers. These items included things such as toiletry items, games, food, etc. Around 20 volunteers met on Monday, Jan. 30 at the Tom Harbin Agricultural Center and assembled the care packages for the 1670th Transportation Company, Alabama Army National Guard, who are currently deployed to Kuwait in support of ongoing Mideast regional operations. The students of Brantley Elementary, Crenshaw Christian Academy, Luverne Elementary and Highland Home Elementary did a wonderful job collecting items and collected enough to ship three big boxes weighing a total of over 220 pounds.
