Steve Thompson

Steve (Buddy) Thompson of Montgomery, Alabama, (2002-2017) passed away at his home on Feb. 1.  He is survived by his parents, Sarah-Ellen and Steven Thompson, and his sister, Florence Elizabeth Thompson of Montgomery; grandmother, Effie Willis Thompson of Greenville; aunt, Elizabeth Thompson (Kirby) Sanford of Houston, Texas; aunt, Emily Semple of Eugene, Oreg.; cousins, Avery Elizabeth and Cole Daniel Sanford of Houston, Texas, and Michael Darrington Zennache’ and Katherine Rose Semple of Eugene, Oreg., and his great-aunt Gloria Willis (Roland) Heath of Junction City, Ga.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence Bibb Evans and Thomas Darrington Semple.

Steve was working on the rank of life as a member of Troop 307, chartered to Aldersgate UMC. Recently, Steve spent time during the holiday break teaching other boy scouts scouting skills. Steve’s willingness to help and support the boys of the troop will always be remembered. Steve was also a student at Churchill Academy and will be missed by his many friends and teachers.

A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Montgomery, Ala. at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Troop 307.

A private burial will be held in Greenville, Ala., after the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Boyscout Troop 307 in Montgomery, Ala.
