Funeral services for Mr. Earlie Scott Jr., was held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. Temple Gate Inc. Church, Ft. Deposit, Ala. Bishop Kenneth Scott, was the officiating minister. Burial followed in Ft. Deposit City Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Ala. directed.
Mr. Earlie Scott, Jr. was born to the late Mr. Earlie Scott Sr. and Mrs. Willie Mae Scott on April 1, 1934.
He met and married Ms. Clara Lee Porterfield in 1955. To this union nine children were born (one of which preceded him in death). Three brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Mr. Scott loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was an outdoorsman who loved horses and enjoyed a ride every now and then.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Clara Scott; eight children, Julia A. Scott, Kenneth (Deborah) Scott, Herman L. Scott, Debra L. Tolliver, Bennie Tell (Frederick) Davison, Tony (Shaundra) Scott, Sharon (David) Brown and Ronald P. Scott; 19 grandchildren, Tobby (Tynisa), LaDedra (Lamont), Shannon, Shatara, Jenea (Gerren), Toni, Kendall (Rayfield), Charlie, LaFrederick, Tamron, Larry, Conner, Harsean,
LaDaja, Jasmine and Kennan, LaToya, David, Jr., and Malcolm; seven great grandhildren: Shuntavia, Donovan, Jaleigha, Chantel, Elizabeth, Shamiya and Roderick; two adopted great-grandchildren, Demetrius and Pai’ton; siblings: Franklin (Annie) Scott, Mobile, Ala., Annie (L.D.) Gentry, Birmingham,
Ala., Inell White, Mary (Clarence) Graves, John Scott, all of Mobile, Ala.; one aunt, Sarah Webb, Montgomery, Ala.; two uncles, James McMeans of New York and John McMeans of Greenville, Ala.; one great uncle, Willie Poole Sr., Minter, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Mrs. Rose Cassidy.
