Lady Dogs hit the court

The Lady Dogs have a record of 9-16 this season. They pulled off a tough win against the Kinston Bulldogs on September 22. They went to a total of five sets, winning 3-2 sets overall.

Lainey Wells led the team in kills, having eight total. Madeline Driggers, Elizabeth Bush, Kassidy Wilcox and Anna Katherine Kimbro all played hard and earned eight kills between them. Elizabeth Bush, Wells and Driggers scored the Lady Dogs six points due to blocks on the net.

Hannah Sims had the only dig of the game for Brantley. Kassidy Wilcox served six ace serves leading the team. Along with Wilcox, Gracie Free, Olivia Jones and Hannah Sims helping score seven points through ace serves.
The Lady Dogs played Highland Home, beating them in a quick 3-0 set game. Driggers led the team in kills, scoring the Lady Dogs eight points. Jones, Kimbro, Wells, Bush and Wilcox scored an additional 10 points from kills.

Bush, Wells and Wilcox scored three points with great defense by blocking the ball. Emory Bush had the only dig for the Lady Dogs. Free led the team with four aces served. Shelby Carpenter, Sims, and Wilcox helped with five more points due to serving aces.

The Lady Dogs are continuing to work hard and look hopefully to do well in regional games.

“We’ve had a tough schedule, which will make them tough and ready for play-offs,” said BHS coach Christy Grimes.
