Lena Snowden Harrison

Mrs. Lena Snowden Harrison, was born June 11, 1926 in Pine Apple, Ala. She was the daughter of George and Willie Mills Snowden.

She graduated from High School from More Academy in 1944 and attended Auburn University and Livingston University.

Mrs. Harrison moved to Greenville, Ala., in 1947 to work at Planters Mercantile Company. Later she worked for radio stations WGYV and WKXN in Greenville for 35 years.

Mrs. Harrison married Mack Harrison in 1949 and they lived on Hillcrest Drive until his death in 1994.

She served on the school board for nine years at Greenville Academy.

Mrs. Harrison has been a member of First Presbyterian Church since 1957.

She is survived by one daughter, Denise Andrews (Jerry) of Gulf Breeze Fla.; one son, Daniel Harrison ( Cathy); and two grandchildren, Emma and Hunt of Mount Airy, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, Ala., or Covenant Inpatient Hospice Center at the Joyce Goldenberg Campus.

Mrs. Harrison’s visitation was held Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Graveside service followed at 2 pm at Magnolia Cemetery, Greenville, Ala.
