Donnie Hugh Byrd, a native of Bolling, Ala., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 in his home surrounded by his children.  A loving father, he will be missed by his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Addie Byrd; five brothers, and one sister. Survivors include Mildred Byrd Hoxworth; five children, Paula Maples, Donna Brazell, Hugh (Lisa) Byrd, Tracy Michelle Byrd and Chris (Stephanie) Byrd; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Donnie will be missed dearly and is deeply loved by his family.  Donnie had a passion for fishing and loved his children.  A celebration of life was held at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 6390 Old Shell Road in Mobile, Ala., on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 8 at noon at Antioch West Baptist Church, located at 2731 Bolling Road in Georgiana.  The family would like to extend many thanks to Springhill Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Mr. Byrd and his family.  The family will always have a special place in their hearts for Brother Robert and Janet Paul.
