Eloise Whitlow Stanton Harden

Eloise Whitlow Stanton Harden, 81, of Asheville, N.C., passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 at John F. Keever Solace Center.
Mrs. Harden was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Linden, Ala., the daughter of the late Laurie Whitlow Stanton and Annie Myrtis Mansfield Stanton. She attended Gorgas Elementary School and Phillips High School in Birmingham, Ala. She was a creative and talented homemaker all her life, and she worked for a number of years in Greenville, Ala., with her husband, Bill, a CPA and partner in the firm of Lehmann, Ullman and Barclay of Birmingham, Ala. Eloise loved several church families during her life including Briarwood Presbyterian in Birmingham, Ala., First Presbyterian in Greenville, Ala., and Covenant Reformed Presbyterian in Asheville, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Cecil Harden, and a son, William Kevin Harden.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Alan M. Stanton of Mt. Olive, Ala.; her daughter, Cecelia Harden Clark and husband Bill of Asheville, N.C.; grandchildren, Andrew William Clark, Aaron and Andrea Harden, Joshua Alan Clark, Daniel and Georgia Ann Clark; great grandsons, Troy and Noah Harden; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Harden Elijah.
A memorial service with fellowship to follow will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at Third Presbyterian Church (617 22nd Street, Birmingham, AL 35233). Rev. J. William Clark will officiate. Private burial will follow at a later date.
