Funeral services for Mrs. Maggy Ruth Mayweather will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at 1 p.m. from Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Dr. James Hall will serve as pastor and Rev. Joseph Feagin will be officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville, Ala., will direct.

Mrs. Maggy Ruth Mayweather  was born on April 11, 1932 in Butler County, Alabama to the late Guy and Pearlie Lee Mayweather.

She received Christ at an early age.

She was preceded in death by two loving daughters, Diane Hall and Darnise Dozier; three brothers, Guy Mayweather Jr., Isaac Mayweather and Ollie Williams Jr.; and sister, Virginia Lynn Adams.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories a loving daughter, Blendo Powell, Greenville, Ala.; four sons, Guy (Grace) Merriweather, Monroeville, Ala., Shelton (Eileen) Merriweather, Montgomery, Ala., Thomas (Fannie) Pettway and Joseph Lee Pettway; loving and caring sister, Etta Mae (Jasper) Curry, all of Greenville, Ala.; brother, John Merriweather, Mobile, Ala.; three sisters-in-law, Ethel Lee Merriweather, Barbara Merriweather and Helen Merriweather, all of Mobile, Ala.; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and a special son, Jerome Hopper of Montgomery, Ala.
