Dewitt Canterbury, 72, a resident of Honoraville, Ala., passed away Friday, July 15, 2016. Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 from Danielville Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Looney officiating. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, Ala., directed arrangements. Dewitt was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Lee and Ima Mae Hughes Canterbury; sister, Veola Smith; and brother, Wint Canterbury. Survivors include wife, Faye Canterbury, Honoraville, Ala.; sons, Mike Canterbury and Travis Canterbury, both of Montgomery, Ala.; granddaughter, Shelli (Michael) Dean, Honoraville, Ala.; and great-grandchildren, Grace Dean and Eli Dean, both of Honoraville, Ala. A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home and Monday, July 18, 2016 from 10 a.m. until service time at Danielville Baptist Church.
