Gary Sanford Basom

Gary Sanford Basom, 61, a resident of Greenville, died suddenly June 10 at Jackson Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 38 1/2 years, Frances Cartwright Basom; two sons, Gary Basom and Joseph Basom and one daughter, Tabitha Basom, all of Greenville. He has five granddaughters and two grandsons. He also has a brother, Dennis Bodley (Marty) of Washington; two sisters, Linda Manning of Illinois and Victoria Mongeon (David) of North Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family and friends gathering will be at Dunklin Daniels in Greenville on Monday, June 13, at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The visitation will be followed by cremation.
Gary was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, an ASE certified master diesel technician and he loved to watch old westerns with his granddaughters. He served in the U.S. Army as a marksman.
He was a Michigan native and had been in Greenville for 27 years.
