Funeral services for the late Mrs. Edna Lois “Lil Girl” Marsh will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m. from New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Gary D. Reed Sr. will serve as pastor and Rev. Darryl L. Washington will serve as officiating minister. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Ala., directing.
Mrs. Edna Lois Marsh was born on Oct. 23, 1932 and she left this world to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 26, 2016.
She was born to the late Clyde and Anna Marsh. She was the oldest of eight children. She was preceded in death by her sisters Sadie Marsh, Annie Mae Hamilton, Marie Marsh, and Ruth Fair.
Edna was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, AL.
She was also a member of the Order Eastern Star for many years. Her service to God was true and faithful until she was stricken with illness.
Edna was a hard worker and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. She also loved to dance, laugh and have fun with family and friends. The beloved Edna Lois leaves to cherish her precious memories, her two children Willie Lee(Diana) Hawkins of Greenville, AL and Frances Poole of
Chicago, Ill; three siblings, Betty Jewel Primm of Ohio, Jearlean Murray of
Greenville, Ala., and Claude(Lucy) Marsh of Chicago, Ill.; and one half-sister, Mary Frances Wilson of Montgomery, Ala.; 13 grandchildren, Minister Sonja(Rev. Darryl) Washington of Greenville, Ala., Willie Lee Poole Jr. of Birmingham, Ala., Candice(Tavaris) Larry of Tampa, Fla., James(Tanika) Poole of Davenport, Fla., Latricia(Ahmed) Bynum of Chicago, Ill., William Ruffin of New Port Richey, Fla., Travis Goldsmith of Greenville, Ala., Tavish(Brittany) Williams of California, DeMarcus Poole of Orlando, Fla., Fonda Darby, Passion Darby, Aminah Darby and T’Shura Darby all of Chicago, Ill.; 29 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
