McGowin named to Furman’s Dean’s List

Butler County native and Fort Dale Academy graduate Kathryn McGowin has been named to the Dean’s List at Furman University for the spring semester.

Furman’s Dean’s List is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system.

McGowin is the daughter of Vivian McGowin and Dr. Norman McGowin

Furman is a private, undergraduate liberal arts college of 2,700 students in Greenville, S.C.  The school is noted for its rigorous academic program and strong faculty, and its 750-acre campus is widely recognized as one of the most beautiful in the nation. The university has a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, and ranks among the nation’s top producers of U.S. Fulbright Scholars.
