Greenville police are searching for a suspect involved in the armed robbery of a Greenville gas station Monday night.

According to authorities at approximately 8:30 p.m., a masked suspect entered the Marathon gas station on Pine Apple Highway near Interstate 65, pulled a handgun on the clerk and demanded money.

After the clerk handed over the money, the suspect fled in a dark-colored SUV that was parked on the southbound ramp to Interstate 65.

Investigators are trying to piece together clues to help identify the suspect, including enhancing the store’s security footage.

“We have recovered items of evidence that we will process to help us identify the suspect,” said Capt. Justin Lovvorn, commander of the Greenville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. “The video is in the process of being enhanced in order to develop a better picture.”
