Chester Wayne Smith, 65, a resident of Georgiana, Al passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Love’s Way Methodist Church, Georgiana, Al with Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Love’s Way Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home, Georgiana, Al directing arrangements. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be at Love’s Way Methodist Church, Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his Parents: Chester & Bertie L. Smith. Survivors Include: Wife: Rebecca Smith, Georgiana, Al; Son: Jody (Kelsey) Smith, Georgiana, Al; Sisters: Bonnie (Bobby) Stokes, Carolyn (Dale) Wasden, both of Georgiana, Al; grandchildren, Susie Smith, Sarah Smith and Landry Collins; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Smith was a former fire chief of the Shackleville Fire Department, and he was also with the Butler County Highway Department. Mr. Smith also loved to go boating and fishing, and traveling.
