Mr. Billy Powell, 68, of Glenwood, Ala., departed this life Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at his home in Glenwood, Ala. Funeral services will be held from Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Hilary Stewart officiating.  Committal services will follow in the Bullock Community Cemetery. Visitation was held at Hayes Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mr. Powell was a Vietnam veteran, twice receiving the Purple Heart during his service.

Survivors include wife, Cassie Powell, Glenwood, Ala.; son, Chris Powell (Judy), Glenwood, Ala.; son, Brian Powell (Sere), Elba, Ala.; daughter, Shaunna Boon (Jeff), Elba, Ala.; daughter, Lisa Stewart (Dennis), Glenwood, Ala.; son, Brent Walker (Janna), Elmore, Ala.;  sister, Carolyn Senn (Roy Dean), Roeton, AL, Brother – Mack Powell (Carmen), Leesburg, VA, Brother – Larry Powell (Judy), Roeton, Ala.; brother, Herman Powell (Willene), Brantley, Ala.; brother, Sherman Powell (Mitzi), Glenwood, Ala.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his father, B. W.  Powell; mother, Mauouida Powell, and a great-grandson, Christian Skye Crowell.
