Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Owens will be held on Saturday, Jan 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. from Greater St. Matthews in Brantley, Ala. Rev. Willie White will be officiating. Burial will follow in Brantley Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville, Ala., will be directing.

Mrs. Doris Owens was born Dec. 4, 1926 in Crenshaw County to the late Lon Benton and Ella Wiley.

She united with Greater St. Matthews at an early age where she remained until her passing. She met and married the late Mr. Charlie Owens.

She was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, William Benton, Alexander City, Ala., Cassie Benton, Texas,  W. T. Benton, Brantley, Ala., Paul Benton, S.C., Silas Benton, Brantley, Ala., Florence Benton, Brantley, Ala., and Jimmy Lumzy, Brantley, Ala.

She leaves to cherish her memories two stepchildren, Barbara Ann and Matthew Dorsey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
