Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Taylor were held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. from Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Rev. Wilbert Jenkins was the officiating minister. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville, Ala., directed. Mrs. Taylor Mrs. Catherine Simmons Taylor was born Feb. 2, 1932 in Greenville, Ala., to the late Mr. George and Viola Simmons. Catherine was preceded in death by her four brothers, George Jr., Frank, Fred and Willie Simmons; four sisters, Tessie Miller, Rosie Davidson, Bessie Crenshaw and Edna Simmons; and a great-granddaughter, Taaliyah D. Wilson.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Caroline Simmons and Annie Taylor; four sons, Ira Joe Taylor, Willie (Emma) Taylor, Willie Taylor and James Taylor, all of Greenville, Ala.; 21 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, a devoted friend, Zenell Peagler, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
