Through the years, Alfa Insurance Agency has become a well-known name to those in rural areas. One local Alfa Agent has made it his life’s goal to dedicate his time and service to the members of Crenshaw County. After serving in his position for 28 years, Jimmy Morgan was recently recognized as an Outstanding Alfa Agent.

“I guess you could say God led me there because I was never in sales,” said Morgan. “Then I got into the insurance business and it’s really been a blessing for me and my family. It’s been a joy to work with all the clientele. Crenshaw County is a great place.”

 

Seventeen Alfa Insurance agents from Alabama and Mississippi were recently honored for receiving the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Quality Award. According to a recently published Alfa Insurance newsletter, the award is considered a professional mark of excellence and provides advisors at any career stage the opportunity to demonstrate commitment to exceptional professionalism through education and earned designations; production measured by performance metrics customized for each practice specialty; adherence to the NAIFA Code of Ethics; and outstanding service to one’s industry associations.    Morgan was born and raised in Luverne and was more than happy to find a career in his hometown that allowed him to serve the people he had known all his life. He began working as an Alfa Insurance Financial Representative in 1986 and considers it an honor to work with his team everyday. Morgan knows that his job could not be accomplished without the dedicated help of his two secretaries. Both have served with him for over 15 years each.

Alfa Insurance was originally founded by leaders of the Alabama Farmer’s Federation in 1946 in order to provide fire protection for rural residents. Since then, the company has grown to be one of the top-rated insurance companies for rural areas and supplies a multitude of insurance packages. Morgan has found that Alfa serves the residents of Crenshaw County in a way that many other insurance agencies might not be able to.

“Alfa was started to insure the rural farms in the counties where no other insurance company would insure farms or houses. We fill the need for those who need coverage,” said Morgan.

He and his wife Cindy are blessed with two children, Trey Morgan and Emily (Jonathan) Smith and two grandchildren, Caroline Smith and Cooper Morgan.

“It’s a team effort. We are blessed to work in the county we grew up in, and are able to work with people you know and see on a regular basis,” said Morgan. “I’ve been fortunate and blessed to be the agent to service the residents of Crenshaw County.”
