Gloria Rhodes Miller

Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Rhodes Miller will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at noon from Lomax Hannon Auditorium. Rev. Sylvester Caldwell will serve as officiating minister. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services of Greenville, Ala., will be directing.

Gloria Rhodes Miller was born in Greenville on Nov. 15,1948 to the late Milton Rhodes Sr., and Josephine Atkins Rhodes.

She departed this way of life on Nov. 18, 2015 at her home. She confessed Christ at a young age and joined the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where she served and grew to know the Lord. She remained a

member until she married her High School sweetheart, Lewis Miller, Jr., and they moved to Detroit, Mich. She then became a member of Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. P. M. Martin and in 1983 united with Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the

late Rev. David Lowe. There she served in many capacities as a deaconess and just loved her Mission Ministry.

Lewis and Gloria were the proud parents of one son, Kevin Lewis Miller Sr., and one daughter, Nellver Brown Perry. Her husband, Lewis preceded her in death along with two sisters, Eleanor

and LeDonna.

Gloria worked in the Detroit School System as a pre-school assistant teacher until her health failed. Her hobbies included cooking, talking and having concern for her family and friends everywhere. She moved back to Greenville and joined the Old Elam Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving son, Kevin Lewis Sr., (Kynisha Smith) Miller, Greenville, Ala.; daughter, Nellver Perry, Detroit, Mich.; sister, Joyce (Steven) Buskey, Greenville, Ala.; two brothers, Milton Jr. (Larita) Rhodes, Dublin, Ga.; Marvin (Shelia) Rhodes, Selma, Ala.; grandchildren, Urania, Ashley, Anthony, Alicia, Tara all of Detroit, Mich.; Kamiya, Kourtney, Kevin Jr., all of Greenville, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Gerald, Ravana, Kirron Jr., Rayuana and Kanise, all of Detroit, Mich.; mother-n-law, Mrs. Lucile Miller, Greenville, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Glenda Miles, Debra Smith, Greenville, Ala.; Cynthia Thompson, Denver, Colo.; Crystal (Tom) Woolridge, Norfolk, Va.; brothers-in-law,  Calvin Miller, Novi, Mich.; Douglas Miller, Sterling, Va.; Nick Agemy, Dearborn, MI; God Children, Darlene King, Monique Dalton, both of Detroit, Mich.; Jesse “Sonny” King, Augusta, Ga.; godmother in
