Russell Pierce Harper

Russell Pierce Harper, 42, a resident of Greenville, Ala., died Monday, Nov. 16, 2015.  A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015 at Sunrise Memorial Park with Brother Jackie Davis and Rev. Lane Simmons officiating and Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his father, Deleno Max Harper Sr.; paternal grandparents, Y.O. Harper and Gertrude Stokes; and maternal grandparents, Curtis and Ida Crawford Pierce.

Mr. Harper is survived by his sons, “Dalton” Pierce Harper and Russell “Pierce” Harper II of Pike Road, Ala.; mother, Sandra Pierce Harper of Greenville, Ala.; brother, Delano Max Harper Jr. of Richmond, Va.; sister, Traci Brenier (John) of Gautier, Miss.; nieces, Alexandra Marie Harper of Greenville, Ala., and Resa Borries of Gautier, Miss.; nephews, Christian Harper of Coral Springs, Fla., and Spence Brenier (Melanie) of Gautier, Miss.; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Russell attended Fort Dale Academy and was the Most Valuable Player in 1991 for football. He served in the US Army from 1992-1994 and worked in the forestry industry prior to a logging accident in 2002.
