For the fifth year in a row, breast cancer survivors and family members will gather together for the annual Breast Cancer Survivor Brunch at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital.
The event is organized and sponsored by L.V. Stabler’s Healthy Woman group, as well as Senior Circle, and will be held on Oct. 9.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The brunch will start at 9:30 a.m. in the hospital dining room and will feature speaker Jeannie Smith, community manager for the Montgomery office of the American Cancer Society. Immediately following the brunch will be a balloon lift off in honor and memory of the friends and loved ones of those in attendance.
Linda Holley, volunteer coordinator for Healthy Woman and Senior Circle, helps with the organization of the event each year. She understands the importance of holding events like these and hopes to continue them for years to come.
“We hold these events to let the breast cancer survivors know how proud we are of them and how we are behind them every step of the way,” said Holley.
Breast cancer survivors and family members are welcome to attend and are asked to reserve a spot by calling Holley by Tuesday at (334) 383-2305.
