Mrs. Jimmie Alice Barnes, 82, a resident of Luverne, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Turner Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Salem Cemetery in Bullock County with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Barnes; two sons, William R. Barnes and Jimmie Lamar Barnes; her daughter, Lucille Berneice Barnes; one great-granddaughter, Raegan Amellia Kelley; and a sister, Frances Whitley.

She is survived by two children, Benjamin Barnes and Roberta McKinney; her granddaughter, Mary (Jonathan) Pearce; two great-grandsons, Wayne Pearce and Jake Kelley; two sisters, Margie Rowell and Betty Jo Whitley; and two brothers, Louis Edward Whitley and John W. Whitley.
