Mr. Alford Herman White, 75, a resident of Highland Home, passed away on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at New Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. William Leverette, Rev. Stan Holts and Rev. Kenny Horn officiating.

Interment followed in New Ebenezer Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Atwood and Myrtle Schofield White.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emily A. White; two children, Lisa (Travis) Taylor and Byron White; three grandchildren, Mary Emily Taylor, Payton Elizabeth Taylor and Allie Claire Taylor; two sisters, Nobie (Thomas) Beasley and Patricia (Ricky) Whitehead; and two brothers, Daniel Joe (Faye) White and Benny (Annie) White.

Active pallbearers were Michael Pruitt, Doug Brown, Cline Tidwell, Harold Russell, Bob Daughtery, Lamar Thomas and Mike Dunn.
